          Bahru Zewde

          Bahru Zewde (born 1947 in Addis Ababa) is an Ethiopian historian and author.[1] He writes extensively about modern Ethiopian history (1855 to the present) and is now an emeritus professor at Addis Ababa University where he once served as the Head of the History Department and the Director of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies.[2]

          He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with distinction from Haile Selassie I University (now known as Addis Ababa University) in 1970 and his Ph.D.
