          How It All Started

          Christ is the Answer Chapel was located at Morse Street NE when Rev. Alfred A. Owens Jr. decided under the anointing and the leadership of the Lord to make it his first church, in the heart of the nation’s capital, Washington , D.C.

           
           
          The church opened in May with eight members:  Sandy Meekins Brice, Gladys Chisely, Carol Owens Ford, Leona McCree, Leamond Meekins, Odessa Meekins, Katie Williams, and Shirley Williams.  It was a small building, but Pastor Owens and the founding members had church as if the building was packed.

           It did not take long before a pulpit was built, an organ was purchased, and a communion table graced the front of the pulpit.  The church began a radio program in Washington, D.C., which brought souls and filled the metal seats as Pastor Owens preached the Word.

          Expanding The Vision

          Six years later, on Easter Sunday, April 11, , the church moved to 16th Street NW.
